About God

We believe in one God revealed in three co-equal persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God created all things in heaven and earth, seen and unseen. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Father begotten from eternity not created. We believe that God created all things through Him. By the power of the Holy Spirit, through the Virgin Mary, Jesus became a man. Under Pontius Pilate, he was scourged, crucified, and buried for the sin of all mankind, past, present, and future. Through him all things were made. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day Jesus rose again in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will return again to retrieve His church, judge the living and the dead, and set up his everlasting kingdom here on earth. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son by which the Lord speaks to man; reveals Christ; saves the lost; heals spiritually, soulically, and physically; provides for the needy; does miraculous works through his church; and will resurrect the dead at the time appointed by the Father. (John 1:1-4, 6-13, 14, 16-17, 29, 34, 35; Philippians 2:6; Matthew 3:16-17; 1 John 4:2, 13-14, 1 John 5:1, 6-8,11-13).

The Church

The role of the church is to train (disciple) its members to equip them for the work of ministry, for the edifying the body of Christ through the fivefold office gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Jesus commanded the church to preach the Gospel and make disciples. He also commanded the church to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless; take care of orphans and widows, and visit those in prison. (Ephesians 4:11-12; Matthew 28:18; Mark 16:15; Matthew 25:35-45; Galatians 2:10; James 1:26).

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them. We accept the Bible as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (II Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21).

Faith

We believe the Church is called to live by faith. (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38) Faith works through love and should be accompanied with works of love. Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26).

Man, the Fall, the Redemption

Man is a created being made in the likeness and image of God but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:1-7) All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). As it is written, there is none righteous (Romans 3:10). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil. (1 John 3:8) He shed His blood and gave His life to redeem and restore man back to God. (Romans 3:23; Romans 3:25-25; Ephesians 2:13; 1 John 1:7; 3:8; Galatians 3:13-14) Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 4:6; Romans 5:12-21; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 5:2; Matthew 5:16; Galatians 2:16; Acts 9:36; Acts 26:20; 1 Timothy 2:10; Titus 2:7; Titus 3:8 and 14; Hebrews 10:24).

Eternal Life and New Birth

Man’s first step toward salvation is repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when it is fulfilled, it produces eternal life (Matthew 3:2,8,11; Matthew 4:17; Mark 6:12; Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; John 3:3-5, 15; John 10:28; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-10; Titus 3:7 1 Peter 1:23).

Water Baptism

Baptism in water is by emersion and is a direct commandment of our Lord. It is for Believers only. This ordinance is a symbol of the Christians identification with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Mark16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:36-39; Acts 10:48; 19:1-6; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The baptism in the Holy Ghost with fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to those who are believers in the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6).

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite progressive work of grace, which commences at the time of regeneration and continues until the consummation of salvation (Hebrews 12:14; I Thessalonians 4:3-4; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; I Peter 1:2; I Corinthians 1:30).

Devine Healing

Healing is for the physical illness of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by laying on of hands. It is provided for by the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of every member of the Church today (Exodus 15:26; Exodus 23:25; Deuteronomy 7:15; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-15; I Peter 2:24).

Resurrection

We believe at an appointed time set by the Father, the living and the dead will be resurrected to be judged "The dead in Christ shall rise first. Then, we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). Following the tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords together with His Saints who shall be kings and priests. He shall then reign a thousand years (Revelation 20:5-6). Luke 14:14, Luke 20:35-36; John 5:29; Acts 4:2; Romans 1:4; Romans 6:5; 1 Corinthians 15:20-49; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Philippians 3:10-11; Hebrews 11:35).

Hell and Eternal Retribution

The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and has no further opportunity of hearing the gospel or for repentance. The lake of fire is literal. The terms eternal and everlasting used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire carries the same thought and meaning as endless existence as used in noting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the Saints in the presence of God (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10-15; Hebrews 6:l-2). (Matthew 5:22-30; Matthew 10:28; Matthew 18:9; Matthew 23:33; Mark 9: 43-47; Luke 12:5; 2 Peter 2:4).

Communion - The Lords Supper

Until He comes, we partake of the Lord’s Supper to illustrate the Lord’s death. The bread symbolizes the Lord’s broken body. The cup represents the new covenant of His blood, which provides us with forgiveness and relationship with God. Christians realize that salvation is provided through the finished work of Christ and these sacraments are symbolic of His finished work. then says that if anyone takes of these sacraments unworthily he is guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. Matthew 26:26-27; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:14-20, 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 21-22; 1 Corinthians 11:23-27).

Laying of Hands

This is a simple belief that one person touching another can transmit God’s power and anointing, or any other necessary quality. Laying on of hands was practiced by the Levitical Priesthood. Jesus practiced it in Mark 10:13-16 as a blessing. This is our procedure for baby dedications instead of baptism. We also practice laying on of hands for healing (Mark 5; Acts 28:8; Acts 19:11-12); to confer office (Acts 6:26); to receive the Holy Spirit to believe words spoken, to receive and cultivate the anointing; for ordination to consecrate and receive the necessary ministry tools (I Timothy 4:14). Mark 16:18; Acts 8:16-18; Acts 9:17; Acts 28:8; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6).

Marriage

God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one (Gen 2: 22, 24; Matt 19: 4-6).
